Using Less.js in the browser is the easiest way to get started and convenient for developing with Less, but in production, when performance and reliability is important, we recommend pre-compiling using Node.js or one of the many third party tools available.
Get involved with Less development by opening an issue or submitting a pull request (if it's a feature request, please open an issue first). Read our contributing guidelines and the developing section of our usage page.
See the Overview for a quick summary of Less. For an in-depth guide to installing and setting up a Less environment, as well as documentation on developing for Less, see: Using Less.js.
