The new mizuno pro lineup to be announced this fall will have replacement irons for the 243 and 245. The signature line is on a separate release schedule so noone knows when the S2 and S4 will be announced.
More Mizuno irons hit the conforming list. Will be interested to see the top lines of M13 and M15 as well as the tech story about how they fit into the current iron line…
To anyone who has tried both, have you seen measurable differences in terms of feel, performance, launch, flight, turf interaction and forgiveness between these 2 irons? I see that each set has very similar specs.
What I did noticed is Mizuno was using Chromoly 4140M in the JPX 921 irons and switched to using Chromoly 4335 which is 35% stronger in the JPX 923 irons. But now for the JPX 925's Mizuno went back to using the Chromoly 4140M, wonder why they did that?
mizuno is holding me back from going forward with new titleist irons - really want to see what mizuno does with either the 245pros or the 925 forged and whats next.
No scuffs are serious signs of wear. Earlier this year I've played the 25 ProV1x, and the prior generations of Maxfli X and Wilson Staffs. I like all of these balls, and the Mizuno Pro X is comparable in all regards from what I can tell. I really want to try to latest Wilson Staff X, just waiting for a sale or discount...
There is a thread over in the tour forum about next steps. I think the consensus is that the MP lines will continue and the S line will be separate. Which also would mean there is the opportunity for confusion and overlap. So, in other words, SOP for Mizuno.
Expand Much more forgiving and longer than 243, more spin than 245. 245's will launch higher with the added tungsten but lower spin for sure. the Pro series, more demanding overall to hit, the forged are just easier to hit across the board and are like a built in combo set in their own right.
Didn't hit Srixon. But I will say the Mizuno 245's easily had the best feel and sound. They don't give as much extra distance as I anticipated for a "players distance" irons. Still was hitting it about the same distance as my Mavrik's with a better flight pattern, spin and the 245's has 3 degrees more loft. The Titleist clubs just didn't feel ...
