NIMC offers a total nationwide solution for your identity management needs, including NIN enrollment, updates, and verification services, among many other flexible options.
The National Identification Number (NIN) is the unique number which identifies you for life and is issued to you by NIMC after your enrolment. It is used to match you with your biometric data and other details in the National Identity Database during verification and authentication.
To download your enrolment form online go to www.nimc.gov.ng. Fill all forms in block letters and proceed to the nearest enrolment Centre for biometrics capturing in order to obtain the National Identification Number (NIN).
If you cannot remember your NIN, visit any NIMC office near you for assistance or use the *346# SMS phone service. Enter your PIN on the lock screen to continue.
NIMC plays its main role as the custodian of the central National Identity Database and regulates all national identity matters, while citizens and legals residents now receive a broader range of enrolment and NIN collection choices via NIMC’s partner MDAs and licensed private vendors.
A NIN holder approaches his desired NIMC enrolment center and gets verified through the NIMC Verification Service. After a successful verification, the NIMC staff fills applicant’s details as listed above on the portal.
