NASA's Artemis II mission reached a critical milestone this week as teams conducted a wet dress rehearsal of the Space Launch System rocket and Orion spacecraft during an unusually intense blast of cold air surged across Florida, delivering record-breaking low temperatures to the Sunshine State.
Teams at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida continue to prepare the SLS (Space Launch System) rocket, Orion spacecraft, and ground infrastructure in advance of the Artemis II test flight.
NASA will conduct a fueling test known as a wet dress rehearsal that will determine if Artemis 2 is on track to launch from the Kennedy Space Center.
The space agency announced Friday that it was moving the Artemis II wet dress rehearsal at Kennedy Space Center back because of extreme cold and windy conditions expected in Florida this weekend. The wet dress rehearsal is now scheduled for Monday instead of Saturday.
