Snow is going to roll through the Cascades this week; the Portland and Vancouver metro areas may see some snow starting Wednesday night, impacting travel.

A winter weather advisory is in effect for Portland's West Hills and other areas across the region as a series of weak, low-pressure systems could bring widespread snow showers through Thursday.

Rain and snow showers will continue to be the headline through Wednesday, with about a 70% chance of precipitation today and a low near 31°F tonight. According to the National Weather Service Portland,

Valentine’s Day in Portland is shaping up to be cloudy and rainy, to be followed by some sunshine Sunday. Highs will reach 47 degrees Saturday with a 50% chance of rain, according to the National Weather Service.

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Sunday around the Portland metro area looks to be mainly dry with a mild afternoon on tap. There’s a slight chance of a few rain showers early in the day with morning clouds and then mainly dry with sun breaks expected throughout our afternoon hours.

Early Sunday, Portland is starting off damp, with light rain in the city and temperatures around 43°F (6°C) at Portland International Airport. The gray skies will not last all day, though. A brief dry stretch with afternoon sunshine is expected, with highs near 52°F, before a cooler and wetter setup moves in on Monday.
