Tata Group veteran says the company’s 72nd AGM was his last as Chairman, days after announcing his exit from Trent.

Noel Tata joined the board of Voltas on January 27, 2003, and was appointed non-executive chairman on September 1, 2017, succeeding Ishaat Hussain.

Noel Tata thanked shareholders and employees for their support, expressing satisfaction with the company's growth, particularly the air conditioning division's record sales.

Noel Tata, who also announced to step down from the chairmanship of Voltas, said the company is evaluating foraying into compressor manufacturing in the future.

The announcement comes at a time when Voltas is riding on a strong demand for cooling products.
