This is the Clan Macnab Burial ground on Innis Buidhe, a small island in the middle of the River Dochart at Killin. They're one of the oldest clans in Scotland, the name meaning Son of the Abbot and said to refer to one of the children of the first King of Scots from the mid 800s! That's the tradition passed down through oral stories, but the first chief we can easily date is Gilbert Macnab who was confirmed in a charter by David II in 1336.
