James Smith & Sons in Bloomsbury can be found on the corner of New Oxford Street and Shaftesbury Avenue. This impressive, Grade II-listed Victorian building houses Europe's oldest umbrella shop, which first opened in 1830 and stocks as many as 3,000 walking sticks, parasols and umbrellas at one time. They are handmade below the storefront and have a lifetime warranty. It has been owned and operated by the same family since 1830 who will also repair walking sticks and umbrellas. A most wonderful
